We measured Kaden today. He's a whopping 25 inches long. That's five inches that he's grown since birth! We'll weigh him tomorrow and give an update soon. Ryan also took some really cute videos of Kaden. One was Kaden trying to play with a toy that makes sound when you spin a ball and the other is Kaden feeding himself. I'll post them as soon as I figure out how to post the videos.

Almost Done
My home computer has been out of commission since before Thanksgiving (I think). It's really great to work at WSU because staff and students can get their computers fixed for free. We had to order a new hard drive, which we got a really good deal on. It's also 70 gigs more than our old one. I'm excited to get it back (which should be sometime this week) so I don't have to fight Ryan over the laptop.

New Camera!
Ryan and I bought a new camera recently. Our old camera, a Canon Powershot, decided to call it quits after a good 5+ year run. Ryan had that camera before we met and we took it on all our vacations including Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Mexico, St. Lucia and Martinique.
Our new camera, another Canon PowerShot (SD750), is quite the upgrade - slimmer, sleaker, not to mention 7.1 mega pixels instead of 5.1. This camera was recommended by my friend Jen - it's the same one she has and has worked very well for pics and videos of her family. I highly recommend this camera and CNET ranks this camera as one of the top 5 digital cameras available right now.
I was reading the user manuals this weekend and found a really cool feature. You can use the camera to select a color and it will highlight that color and make everything else black and white. Here's my mom modeling this feature:

And here's another one using green instead of red:

It's turning out to be a very awesome camera and I'm excited to keep using it!

Why I hate technology
For the past 5 or so years I have received awesome service from my cell phone provider (who shall remain nameless in case they are spying on me). I've never had anything to complain about until today. Over the past 24 hours I have received mysterious text messages from Yahoo about mortgage foreclosures. The odd thing about this is that I don't recall signing up for these alerts and Yahoo doesn't have any record of me signing up for these either.
Normally I don't mind the random one or two unwanted text messages. I have received no less than 6 within the last 24 hours. The most irritating ones occurred at 10 PM, 2 AM and 6 AM. I admit that I do text quite a bit (several hundred messages a month), but this just ticks me off! I'm just glad that I didn't have my phone in my bedroom last night or it would have woken me and Ryan from our sleep.
To make matters worse (or at least a little more irritating), the afore mentioned cell phone provider is "upgrading my account" for a 72 hour time period (going on 96 by my count) and can't make any changes to my account. I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait it out.

I'm on LAPD Wife's Website!!!
As I was surfing around on the internet I went to the LAPDwife.com website to see if there were any new posts. My blog (The Happy Couple) is listed under the Police Wives webpages! How cool is that?

Tech Call
I work in the technology field, so it irritates the crap out of me when I have to make a call to the Help Desk to get help. Here's an exert from my most recent call:
After being on hold for 20 minutes, someone finally picks up the call ...
Me: Hello? My computer takes too long to turn on.
Tech guy: How long does it take?
Me: About two or three minutes. That's not really normal is it?
Tech guy: Well, lets try some stuff.
(30 minutes later)
Tech guy: So, your Anti-virus software is causing the problem. My suggestion is to turn it off and only start the Anti-virus when you connect to the internet.
Me: Well, I have cable, so my internet is always on.
Tech guy: Oh! Then I strongly suggest that you turn on the Anti-virus now!
Me: Ok. Thanks for that hour of my life I just wasted.
